america s next top model

america s next top model

So, I’m a bit of an ANTM fiend. As america s next top model as it is to say, I usually try my hardest to schedule my Wednesday’s around the new weekly episode. I really can’t help it. This past episode, one of the two full-figured models was voted off (Diana). Not only was she voted off, but america s next top model cycle 10 winner full-figured models were placed in the bottom two this episode around. Diana’s photograph was not exactly stellar, but I do not think it was the worst amongst the bunch (Jael’s photo was particular bland, but she passed through to the next america s next top model winner perfectly fine). Whitney was given a america s next top model criticism during the judging period for her body too (Nigel made some comment to the extent of her breasts being noticeable, however Tyra america s next top model rebuked him saying that that wasn’t something that could be helped, america s next top model her figure).

There seemed to be a bit more focus on the full-figured models this time around. Renee, the bitchy one of the america s next top model winner asked Whitney if she thought that a full-figured model would ever grace the cover of Vogue and told her that she didn’t think that she looked like a model. This made me dislike Renee even more than I america s next top model did. I think that Whitney and Diana are every bit america s next top model beautiful as the other models. Each of them is attractive in their own manner and I think that it is very possible for a more “full-figured” woman to take high fashion photos whitney thompson it is for a lanky, typical runway model to (take their murder-themed photoshoot for example– their photos were as compelling and high fashion as the others).

However, this episode made me wonder… will a fuller-figured woman america s next top model be named ANTM? Will we ever have one which as a more mainstream, well-known model who is america s next top model as “high fashion”? I love the fact that ANTM does feature full-figured models and america s next top model who america s next top model of a more petite stature, amongst the typical model-types… but will one ever be named winner? It seems that a lot of the time, some of the judges can’t get past their preconceived notions of what america s next top model is/should be. Any thoughts?
